This is my first test with a new Canon FS100 digital camera. After finding the Help info, it was very easy to upload. Will now probably keep this posted. The clarity is phenomenal and the sound is absolutely great and it was with the camera built-in mic. Of course, an acoustically sound room is even better and a good external mic. But I think you can see the advantages.

  • This vibraphone is a Ross, model R215G, if I recall. The company, Ross, no longer exists. They sold their vibraphone line to Majestic; I don't know the name of their parent company now. The frame is entirely different now and quite heavy.

  • omg!! this is like a marimba its so0o0o0o cool!!!!

did you edit this video at all?

  • Hi,

    No editing at all.

  • Announcement for information. I am not a techie. All I do is record with the camera,built-in mic, transfer the clip to my computer and make a movie in Windows Movie Maker. Save. Then upload movice to Youtube and it plays fine. I do not understand what is making problems for some. I did make one clip one time where sound and picture were not synchronized, I just deleted it and tried again. I always SAVE to ImageMixer3 or to Windows Movie Maker.

  • hi vibeman: i think i understand what fordgt402 mean, because i encounter the same issue too.

i bought a microphone (without battery) and just connect to my canon fs100, and when i play back the clips thru my laptop, the sound only come out from one side of the speaker, and when i listen by using headset, it comes out only from the left side of the headset.

maybe you have any suggestion on this? thanks first.

  • First, I am not techie so please don't expect me to have all these answers. However, I sense there is something you and fordgt402 are not doing. Maybe your mic is not a stereo mic and you have to make sure your laptop is configuered for stereo playback. What does a battery have to do with a microphone?? Are you making a movie of clip first before playing back through laptop?? There are some other experts on Youtube but I am surely not one of them. Sorry if this doesn't help.

  • haha the vibraphone sound made me lost my head

idk for a second i was all like in the air o_o

  • How do you think this would handle against filming a drumline both indoors and outdoors? Does this camera have an external mic input? By the way, great vibe work.

  • I could sleep to this.

  • What make and model vibraphone?

  • @100Below0 That's what she said

  • Actually a marimba is made of wood. This is made of metal and called a vibraphone, as the title of the video states. Yes, very cool!!!
