  • I'm skeptical ... It flyes like an R/C Model microlight!

  • @aerotranslados you're right, and Dan is this little elf that climbs in once a year to help Santa deliver packages. Sure can't put anything past you.

  • How many years did it take for him to kill himself?

  • @mryellow123

Dan is still flying and works with Quicksilver at Oshkosh and other venues.

This type of flying takes talent and attention to detail on building a sturdy aircraft designed to do this type of flying.

  • Curiousity and adventure got a hold of me one day and I did 3 loops in my Sport. I recall seeing blue sky and hoping the ground would come back in sight level, it did, was amazing and I had a smile on my face for at least a week. People would ask.. 'New girlfriend Jeff?' I'd say... 'No, 3 loops in my Quicksilver Saturday.

  • I'd rather do three loops in a beefed up ultralite instead of a dirt bike! "LOL"

  • Nice flying. Quicksilver's are a blast but I don't think I'll try Dan's maneuvers. I'm not that good and I wouldn't have confidence in the airframe strength if I screwed up.(Old but not Bold) The loop is a 1G maneuver when done correctly. The same with the rolls. You just have to do them CORRECTLY. If you get too footsy on the rudder and spin you might breakup if you exceed Vne during the dive.UGLY. Fun to watch. Thanks for posting this.

  • is he still alive?

  • Astonishing- I had never guessed aerobatics would be possible in such a machine. A brave man to carry it out at low level. I hope he walked away after landing.

  • @philpennington2

It is an MXL, look at the king post upper the wing attachment. It is a cabled Quicksilver. I had an MX II with a 447 rotax, that never got near of that, even diving at Vne!

  • @aerotranslados

Thanks!! That one hell of a compliment.

Isn't it great how the guys that can't do it and would be afraid to try are the most skeptical. FYI; not working with QS anymore. When Paul Mather started M-squared I went with Paul to help him .
