Science related words, particularly oceanography/geography.

Some words... translated in another way, for example Geology, you can either fingerspell it OR translate it as 'the study of rocks'. (It's simplistic, but it's representative of the whole.) to be more accurate, you can spell it.

What people do, as I'm sure you're aware, is to spell it at first, then agree on a sign, for the more obscure words, then use that agreed-upon sign from then on.

  • @leviathanc Indeed. Such specialised Jargon, as you know tend to be fingerspelled, unless the people involved agree on a sign for the specific word, and then use that sign from then on.

  • Yes, that's pretty much similar to American Sign Language when it comes to fingerspelling the science related words such as oceanography.
