kWh meter -- Sangano S200.16

Electromechanical kWh meter.
If you are interested in metrology it is interesting to see how manufacturers design certain meter dials, to minimise the burden on the disc, by extra gearing and counterweights operating the numbers for a quick change over every 10 units.
The disc has to make 2500 revs to lift ovet the 10 unit counter weight to allowe for a fast changeover in numbers.
So called jumping dial register.

I take these meters out every day. loads of 200.16s round here

We are taking some of these out because of dials getting stuck between the 10's or multiples thereof.

That meter is in my workshop. I also have a S200.7 which has dial pointers. (rated at 40 Amps)

These meters are still common in New Zealand.

There are also the S200.31 and S200.33 which are 1Ø 80 Amps. Thousands of those around here.

@BoomBoxDeluxe There is a company in the USA that manufactures a variety of kWh Meters. They are the industry leader and offer a 10 yr warranty. They even have water repellent meters that are very popular with Marina owners.

Niiice! The British Sangamo-Weston S200.16 I own one of these! Nice instruments, with FLOTON magnetic bearing for the load wheel. There's two variants of this instrument. The dial type and then this variant. I wish I owned both variants! The dial type can be seen on YouTube! This is the small single-phase domestic type.I also own the huge industrial three-phase version! It's three-phase, four-wire direct connection type (not CT type)

Maybe I should try getting mine on here!
