The song is a contemporary Bonnie and Clyde story about two lovers on an idealist binge. Recorded, mixed and mastered in 12 hours, the lyrical urgency of the story is reflected throughout the recording. With eclectic instrumentation including setar, daf, violin, accordion, harmonica, cahon, guitar, and upright bass, the band once again showcases its musical diversity.

"Heading Out East"

The girl I love is out in LA
Burning up the Sunset Strip in a New York City way
She called me on the telephone
Told me her gypsy heart wants to roam
With a smile on my face I quit my band
Move it on over to that godforsaken land
Gallon of gasoline matches in hand
Me and my baby making love in the burning sand

We're heading out east

Steal us a Cadillac candy apple red
White leather seats in the back gonna be our bed
Drive through the night with Vegas in our sights
Got to find a chapel called the endless night
She's dressed in black, I'm in blue
Stand before Elvis and say I do
I asked the king can I borrow your gun
There's a TV in my mind I can't turn off

Baby looking good with her long blonde hair
Blowing in the wind like a drunk man's prayers
I can see the sky reflecting in her eyes
Who needs the truth when I can live for her lies
Coming up quick to the Texas state line
With a thirty aught six and a silver 39
Eastern star tattooed on our mind
No need to see the road when you drinkin moonshine

We hit New Orleans with them heavy rains
People walking round in rusted chains
Kind of broke her heart what she could see
She got on her knees and set the people free
The governor didn't like that none
He grabbed her arm, baby grabbed her gun
Put the barrel right between his eyes
She blew him a kiss as I waved bye bye

Howling like a wolf trying to get free
Driving through the night to Memphis, Tennessee
Whistling past the graveyard spoon full of gold
This kind of love never ever growing old
Sweating underneath the magnolia trees
Ocean of stars dark as the sea
Wild wind crying in the reeds
We're making love like a wound makes you bleed

Our eyes are red our skin is raw
This kind of love always has claws
The sun is rising I can clearly see
New York City on the horizon of destiny
Pulling into Hell's Kitchen real slow
Looking for a place where we can lay low
Skeleton thin, crazy as a loon
Can't find us no vacant room
Baby's pointing up, up to the moon
Saying lord we got here much to soon
That a gypsy heart don't never rest
And a soul is only free when it's put to the test

We're heading out west
