@Orlabobz Photography was nearly a hundred years old in the late nineteen twenties. They were starting to capture family portraits of poor people during the civil war period. By Bertie's time, portraits were more of a novelty than photographs.

Now really, Bertie comes from a time more used to paintings than photo's. They were a relatively new thing, which makes sense why he would want to sit still for a photo, but surely he knew the protocol for a painting. Especially as he is upper class he would have had his portrait done before. So why would he confuse it with a photo and think it would come out blurry?
