How is it that anything negative you say about them is supposedly an exaggeration and a stereotype but the positive things you say must be true and get a thumbs up? Some things are stereotypes and some things are cultural norms. Many of the girls from the traveller culture have confirmed the blatant sexism and they fully admit to not teaching girls anything but to grow up and get married young. Being open minded about other cultures is one thing-being blind to their faults is another.

Recently, night crews have been abused by big retail companies, a famous politician broke international law and hasn't been arrested for it, and belgian police used gestapo methods to seize evidence from priests.
You're right to say that every human community has its dark sides, because every human community is, and will be imperfect, but refusing to acknowledge the good in people will only make you miserable.
P.S.: I think they're abused here just because they're different.

1. "Publicy" isn't a word.
2. "Wife neglect" is when you bed someone out of wedlock, then refuse to help raise the child. This happens most often in big cities.
3. Every other thing you said is a stereotype; an exaggeration of the worst that a culture has to offer. It would be like me calling all frontiersman murderous, cattle-russling, bloodthirsty indian-haters. Most of them were just ordinary dudes trying to make it through life without starving to death on the prairie.

@dbmays wife neglect? or to put it another way domestic abuse? thieving off innocent members of the publicy? condemning women to a life spent entirely catering for their (usually) drunken/criminal husbands in their pokey caravan? Children pushed into a lifestyle; dancing in heels and whore regalia from a VERY young age? Men pressurized into fighting and harming each other to attain 'family valour'? Tax evasion? sexually harassing a girl and after having done so claiming her as your bride?
I am a southern girl from Mississippi and I love this show...and yes I do see the values of the gypsy culture,...there is no child neglect going on, family comes first..and the dresses are awesome.

I'm just going to say it, I really love those dresses. Sure, they look like they could kill you if you stepped on the him. And sure, they look kinda ridiculous, but still, they look pretty damn hot.
