why are people saying DMC 4 is a bad game? have you even played it? it was pretty good, just different from god hand, GH is a beat-em-up while DMC is a hack-and-slash, it would make sense for them to be different!

@OreoTheWolf wow, O.o didn't expect the first person to say that is the uploader! and yes it is a hack-and-slash, what else would it be? it's better than DMC2, which is the one that was bad, it might be short, and the levels repeat themselves, but what's important is the fighting, and it did a pretty good job, boss battles were fun, there were more combos, and the devil bringer is a life saver, it's what DMC3 was missing, after a stinger you just pull the enemy close to you and keep slashing!

@smbz821 It's a third person "stylish" action game. Hack-and-slash implies that your mindlessly attacking, and if you're mindlessly attacking, you're not playing Devil May Cry well.

DMC4 was worse than DMC3 by a lot. The levels were worse, the combat was worse. The weapons were far less interesting. Nero was a terrible character, and his story was one sided and stupid. The devil bringer is the "win button", and it makes the game far too easy. And there were far more combos in DMC3.

@OreoTheWolf that isn't even a genre, -_- unless you consider action as a genre, but the genre action is too big, one can define a game within it's branch. and the stylish battle system is what makes DMC unique from the rest, and it can't be counted as a genre because that really isn't another game that has that as well and I consider DMC3 to be a GREAT game, DMC4 is just good, and I really don't care about the story when it comes to DMC, I realized that DMC3 had more moves, the DB is ur opinion

@smbz821 Bayonetta would fall into that same genre, and some consider Viewtiful Joe to be one too. All three games were made by the same person.

And no, the Devil Bringer isn't just an opinion.  It stops the gameplay for a moment, plays a cutscene, does massive damage to enemies if not killing them outright, and there's no penalty for constantly using it. It makes the game easy and stupid, and removes the player from being as active in the combat.

Devil Bringer isn't what you say. Also >implying that Quicksilver wasn't worse. Consumes DT, but it's on an entire different level of brokeness.

And the combat isn't worse, at all.

@OreoTheWolf DMC4 is a really good game and it IS a hack-and-slash, actually Devil May Cry was the first hack-and-slash that game created the hack-and-slash games

@OreoTheWolf bayonetta is a hack-and-slash, idk about viewtiful joe cus I never played it, but another example of hack-and-slash would be god of war, and DMC is made by capcom, GH was made by clover like VJ, and bayonetta was made by the new form of clover (forgot the name), when I say the devil bringer, it's when you press R1+ O and you pull an enemy towards you, it makes for fast and fluid combat, I don't mind about the bosses, you can't do it all the time so that's ok, but no comment there...
