Although I am not Catholic, I do have great respect for those who have such a commitment to religous life.

this is a legitimate life choice for those who believe the tenets of their faith. Surely the vacuous nature of many secular vocations and the emptiness of modern life make this ancient choice appropriate for the psychologically and theologically predisposed.

@DanielR305 The things the world has to offer is empty, and many people see that. The world in uncertain and transient, and it is something that can offer stability. Sometimes people see that pleasures and temptations can never benefit anyone and they said no thanks to them. I am a Benedictine monk and said no thanks to the lies and corruptions that can bring a human being to despair and destruction. Religious life is holy and beautiful..Oh if more people would see it!

@DanielR305 Hi Daniel-your questions were wonderful, and show your sensitivity. In reality, a lot of religious communities are finding their numbers increasing, especially those who are returning to wearing the habit, or some form of dress. It is not a dress to put them outside, but rather to show the world, YES, INDEED-there is a Christ that is worth following.
I am hoping to begin a new community within the Old Catholic Church, and I too wear my habit in public-A witness to God's Love.

@DanielR305 Daniel its not ordination (thats reserved for priests) its called perpetual profession...being a nun is as the same as a basketball player who commits himself to the sport with endless practice and brutal physical work outs same for religious men and women if they have it set on their mind and heart they will go for it.

what a beautiful video thank you very much for uploading
oh what would i give to be at the place of this young women
it most be so amazing to give yourself to Jesus
Just out of interest and I don't mean this in any offence how many nuns get ordained and stay in monastery these days as pressure to young nuns in today's society there must immense pressure and temptations compared to the past when we didn't have computers and tv etc and not as many family problems as there is now days but I hope this new nun has a most joyous peaceful life serving god and preaching his love to all

@DanielR305 Most of these nuns have seen what the world has to offer and said no thanks.

Yes mame. There are two types of consecrated religious. The nuns in this video are contemplatives. They dedicate their entire life to prayer and union with Christ in the Eucharist. Their sacrifice and their prayers call down Gods mercy upon the earth and keep this place from falling apart. The other type of religious are active. They pray hard and bring Jesus to the people. Mother Teresa's sister's are an example of an active order. God bless you and God love you!
