This is a wind generator I built from parts around my house and some local stores. While it is small and experimental, it is also quite capable of handling even high winds. I will post any updates of improvements.

  • that's cool!!

  • Thanks Michelle.

  • Wow. This wind generator that I built from scratch survived Hurrican Gustov. While we did not get rather strong winds this generator did survive winds of around 30 to 50 MPH.

  • 5 stars for a great piece of equipment - it might not stand up to a hurricane but its cool

  • Thanks. Don't worry, if we get another Katrina, it will come down alsong with the $600 solar panel at the bottom.

  • your yawt rotation is really good on this turbine!! Well Done!! Nice to see the wind kick in too.....Looks like an ametek one! nice work!

  • Thank you for the compliment. It has done well so far considering it is the first one I have built. You might recognise the blade. It and the motor came from one of those 12v fans you see in the store.
