Conques Abbey is one of the greatest of all Romanesque sites. It stands on the pilgrimage road to Santiago de Compostela and was an important pilgrimage destination in its own right as the shrine of the great miracle working Sainte Foy. This is part one of two. The porch sculpture of the Last Judgment over the western entrance is one of the finest examples of medieval stone carving to be seen anywhere.
