@MrCrgl Stereo. You want to get the most amount of sounds and not focus on just one area of the place.

Great artist. I wanted to know if a basic ambient sound (ex. restaurant) is recorded in stereo or mono ?

There is no definite way to tell unless you are at the location with the current temperature and wind conditions. Consider the resonant frequencies of the plywood used, thicker heavier wood will likely return more low frequencies, hard shiny would will likely return brighter frequencies, etc. Do several test shoots at various distances with the wood you have using both microphones and determine what you think sounds best.

rob..on the recording of gun shots...what distance/es are good for capturing reflecktions...say a .357...would a 4'x8' piece of plywood work to create reflecktions...and at what distance from the shooter should the wood be placed...also...what type mic dynamic or condencer for the reflecktions? i look forward to your vids...thankyou...
