One person springs to mind: Steve Jobs. All that time wasted trying to cure his treatable cancer with useless homeopathic "remedies" and by the time he actually accepted modern medicine as a treatment, he was on death's doorstep. I can understand why he felt going "under the knife" was instrusive - 'cause, well, it is instrusive. But when something "bad" is multiplying inside you, spreading and hell-bent on killing you, you should probably accept instrusive methods as a cure.

I don't like Rebecca Watson, despite listening to the SGU podcast pretty faithfully. Despite the overabundance of negativity coming out of her mouth on that show, she's good on it.
