Not exactly the scientific reasoning put down by sports scientists (especially since strength exercises rely almost totally on fast twitch muscle fibers), but what's important to the trainee is what is effective and what it brings gains in, not how or why, so hat's off regardless.

its called "complex training." you first do a strength exercise then immediately follow it with a plyometric exercise...you essentially tire out the big slow-moving muscles so that more of the fast-twitch muscles fire during the plyos.
