It is important that people such as this man reveal the loopholes that law enforcement are able to exploit in order to obtain data unconstitutionally. Although I believe law enforcement is an extremely important and difficult task, if they don't play by the rules then law is meaningless. Although charging for requests may discourage some from occurring, it creates a system whereby police have an essentially open door - they just have to pay the cover.

I'm both pro and con these kind of surveillance, BUT the customer should certainly be informed about this, and be informed about their choices! Doing it secretly seems shady
