I would not use the heat gun on my cutting mat if I were you. Heat will warp the mat and once done, there is little you can do to make it flat.
Otherwise, love the project. I'll try making a couple of these, one for my Scrap room and the other for next Mother's Day.

Great Video. Going to try this. Just a word of advice. Turn off your cricut before changing cartridges.
