A drum solo by my pal, Ken Loomer, from a concert on 2-22-09. Lead-in piano solo by the great Tony Castellano, Jr., with Franco Marino on tenor sax, and Bruce Wallace on Bass. Kenny's life-long idol was obviously Buddy Rich, and as great a player as he is, Kenny is still in awe of Buddy, as we all should be. Kenny's mission is to preserve jazz, and for anyone who enjoys Big Band music, be sure to follow Kenny's big band. He plays a lot of Buddy Rich and Count Basie charts. Visit kenloomer.com for details and concert dates.

  • Please Help. In watching Kenny blast through the music with syle, power and suberb technic i noticed he may be using some equipment i have been after for years. It looks to me as those he is playing Cappela drums stix. . How can i get those sticks. Are they they BR model?. Also i noticed the cymbal wing nuts of top of the cymbal stands. What are those called and who made them. They were the best design ever...Thanx PT

  • @hiredgunrecords The cymbal wing nuts are Camber "QUICK RELEASE" Cymbal Stand Wing Nuts, and if you act quickly, you should be able to get some on e-Bay. I spotted some about 10 minutes prior to writing this reply. I got a few from a mutual friend of Kenny and me, and they are great. I don't think they are manufactured anymore. I'm pretty sure that Kenny was using Vic Firth 5A wood tip sticks, but I'll check with him and post another reply if I'm wrong. Hope this helps!

  • I have now posted a lot of new videos of my Big Band in concert.Just put in Ken Loomer Big Band to check them out. Thanks-Ken Loomer

  • Ken Loomer, a real master. So musical, it just swings along like mad. No arms, it all comes from the wrists. We don't see much of this kind of playing these days. And all done with one bass drum. Perfect! Great dynamics. Mr Loomer has incredible control at low volume: at all volumes. WE WANT MORE!

  • Flawless technique ! one problem errrrrr i can`t here you ?now try playing that at three times the volume and on a bigger kit, also have you ever herd of the word "PASSION"

  • I play in a band in Ct called ''FUNKESTRA'' with Ken Loomer's cousin on Trombone!!

  • It's all paradiddle diddles!

  • Bravo!
