This short film introduces us to a life saving technology that has its roots in early 20th century particle physics. It shows how the theoretical prediction of physics and mathematics about positrons grew through the decades into the potent weapon in the battle against cancer known as Positron Emission Tomography (PET). This film deals with the secrets of PET unveiled by experts and the people that brought this technology to Athens recently. It is the fascinating story of how the annihilation of subatomic particles could give to a great fraction of patients the chance to avoid life threatening conditions especially when combined with other technologies, such as the X-ray Computed Tomography (CT). It is a story of risks, successes, great cost, cutting edge science and mostly hope as told by the specialized doctors and the ones mostly affected, the patients.
