@1899lpv Also you need some space to insulate between the frame of the house and the new windows. What year the house was built? What kind of exterior finish your house has (cedar, vinyl siding,stucco,field stones,cement blocs...etc...It is important to know these things because the material used previously could contain asbestos, horse hair,walls filled with sand,sawdust, vermiculite,old clothes or my favorite is stone house has an outer and inner shell that sometimes are not lined up at all.

So my understanding is that you are going to have a rough opening of 84''x54'' once the old window is removed?You will have to place a custom order (worst case scenario) or try to match them. What I suggest is to have the total width shorter by 1 1/2" and the height 1 1/2" shorter. The reason why is you need 3/4" play height wise and width wise...One for expansion/contraction. Two what if your opening is not perfectly square.You have room for adjustments if necessary.

Hi, I am a novice when it comes to window replacement..I have a large living room picture window I'd like to replace..I want the center window to be able to open..so I am wondering if I remove this window sized 84" long and 54" high..could I purchase 3 seperate windows with a size that is 84x54 by being 28" x 54" each? this size is a double hung available at Home Depot. Or do I need to order this window from the manufacturer so all 3 windows can be welded together to make 1 large window
