@pvtvice Okay, so you don't like the fact that this video maker didn't use an image of the Mau-Maus. If it was images you want, look up Mau Maus, a 1950s Brooklyn Puerto Rican street gang in New York. Jave your ?? laugh then.
Humor is found when the unexpected happens... and you expected Bugs Bunny in a giant kettle in a jungle.
Oh well.

@pvtvice How many people watching YouTube were even alive in 1964? And how many Americans know anything about history? Mau-Maus does sound a lot in mou-mouse. The Mau-Maus revolted in British East Africa.

I've been looking for this song for years! Thanks so much for posting it!
-
Don't forget "Groe Mrs. Goldfarb" and "Turn Back hte Clock" very funny songs' somebody should post!!
-
Allan is the king of musical parody...prove me wrong!
-
WTF? It is Mau-Mau's, not MouMouse.
The Congo (Belgian Congo if you really want to be correct) in 1963-64. Backed by the commies they had an uprising and killed, butchered and ate Christian Missionary's. Why did you change the words? PC is dead. If that part of the song offended you, either black out the image or don't post the song.

Holy Toledo! I haven't listened to this in 40 years! Thank you for posting this. I know it's weird but I still knew all the words! Allan Sherman was kind of the Jean Sheperd of this era. Clever, clean and relevant. I am sending this to a 87 yr old guy who is married to a Hungarian! HAAAAA!
-
What year was this? Must be relatively new to have a mouse and Pee Wee Hermann.
-
1:36, double play on words, & drawing attention away from the real term? Clever.
-
great song and nice job wiht the video!

Allan Sherman was not singing "mouse mouse" but "Mau Mau", referring to a participant in the Mau Mau rebellion in British occupied Kenya between 1952 and 1960. And he is eating "Missionary Pie." I'd rather let the read connect the dots.
-
@Justanycgy - remember the "love song to the whole united states" he wrote? He names every state in the song "Holiday for Strings" if I recall the name right. Quite a feat and I still sing it to myself just to prove I remember all 50 states! Sherman was a gifted spoof writer.

anybody got a video of allan sherman in concert performing these great hits from his "My Son.." albums? I've seen some clips from 60s tv show performances, but never an actual succession of songs he's performed in concert anywhere.
-
I love this!!!!

YAY Allen Sherman!
Allan Sherman was responsible for alot of 60's kids learning more classical music than they ever realized. Even today, when I hear the originals as elevator music, I can't help smiling as I recall the lyrics he set to them - the way I learned them to begin with. What an absolute genius he was!
