I think the point is "ignorance is bliss..." That's the way I took it at least.
I live in Fairbanks and I think this is a lovely little video. It captures so much of why I live here.
Gotta ask who's the girl singer who's song frames the middle part of the video? It's a really nice song.

This video is made up of moments in someone's life that are memories for them and were considered worth recording. I can't believe all the hate and angst that gets posted!!!!! I am moving to Fairbanks from NC in two months, and although this video was not reflective of everything that Fairbanks has to offer, it was still worth watching to me. My husband and I will be bringing our 4 small children, and we are both professionals with lucrative careers and neither of us are drunks....

Im going to move to Fairbanks and im not an idiot! Im moving there to get away from the city, can't stand the city! and im happy its winter for 9 months! i live in Canada and its way to hot! i love the cold!!!

And that is why we're glad you left. Hate to say it, but the town changed a LOT since you left. Believe it or not, we have *gasp* electricity! And running WATER! Oh my! Hey, why don't you just stay where you are, b/c we're doing pretty well up here without you. And yeah, I'm typing this in IN Fairbanks, on a COMPUTER (oh my!) with cable internet.

Thanks to adding to the misconception that Fairbanks ak is a bunch of cabins in a frozen wasteland. Maybe the frozen wasteland part is true, but its just like any other modern city. It seems most movies and videos commercially produced perpetuate this image. That we live in cabins and igloos, or tents? Sounds funny, but more people outside than you probably think actualy believe this. More fitting title, Camping in Alaska's back country, not Fairbanks.
