In Ys 1 it's better to ignore the short sword, not worth it IMO. WAY better to take the golden vase and simply buy the long sword. But speaking to the sexy Feena and Old Java isn't a problem at all, it's quite fun in fact. But really fuck Barbado. The characters are nice but once you've talked to everyone and only want that fucking sword but can't get it it's really annoying.
