@sid2709 its simple. The circular motion of a small motor is used to produced linear motion there is a screw which is spinned by the motor and a nut sits on the screw now if the curred is altered the nut will move up and down, like when you use a screw driver you spin the driver and the screw comes linearly up.

What kind of mechanism is being used in the actuator, a rack and pinion, lead screw, or some other type?
