A simpler solution to smelly towels. Wash every second day, the damp towels are getting mildewed sitting in a hamper. Better still, get rid of the hamper, dump the used towels in the wash. When filled, wash. Use only white towels so you can wash them with bleach. Use a hot water setting, use the recommended amount of bleach and detergent. Smelly towels issue will disappear.
