It's pretty hard to convey what the Quasar DLX is capable of in a YouTube video - even a lengthy one like this. However, I've skirted the 'entertainment' factor a little by attempting to methodically go through all of its waveforms and show you briefly what they can do.

My personal favourites are the standard old sine wave (first one), the square waveforms (start at 4:35) and the random sample/hold (goes great with some dirt in front of it).

I'll upload another video shortly showing how an expression pedal can be employed as it opens up a whole range of other possibilities.

If you get through this entire video you've done well. One things for sure, though; it will take you days (at least) to fully explore the possibilities of this phaser. Thanks Brian!

Cheers,

Brett K.

  • Can you send those signals out without that modulation? I'd love to hear what a distorted bass would sound through that but would hate to have that phaser sound tagged along with it.

  • OK best functionality IMHO but am I synical for thinking it can't sound as good as the RED WITCH.

If you could only have one,and I know you couldn't but for the rest of us,red witch or this?

    Please.

  • I think I've just totally dumped the idea of buying a pigtronix envelope phaser or a moog phaser. This is the best I've heard so far!

  • Is the baby quasar capable of any square shaped wave patterns? Do you know of any other phasers beside the Empress Phaser that produces similar patterns? Thanks.

  • I thought I just needed a simple phaser .. until I saw this!

  • 2:13~20 something sounds like me after eating Taco Bell. :-/

  • great video! thanks for increase my GAS in this phaser! ;)

  • what type of ac adapter are you using? Because i got this pedal for christmas and i realized you need a ac adapter to use it do to the fact it dosent run on batteries.

  • @Limfac LMAO, me too.

  • I love this pedal! My favorite phaser I've ever owned.
