President Lyndon Johnson and Senator Clint Anderson discuss the Medicare provisions of the Social Security Bill pending in Congress, including Sen. Wilbur Mill's position. After telling Anderson a dirty joke to illustrate a point, the two men also talk about health policy, a pending Foreign Aid Bill, Johnson's upcoming trip to El Paso, TX, and general campaign strategy for the upcoming 1964 election against Barry Goldwater. Texas Governor John Connally, who was then meeting with Johnson, also talked to Senator Anderson.

The interesting thing about these tapes is this was back when
there was actually some genuine debate between the 2 sides in
the Senate, the 2 sides in the House and the White House.
These last 10 years the Legislative mostly rubber stamps what
the White House sends up there because ALL 3 ARE OWNED
BY THE SAME BANKSTERS.

Quite boring actually. I pity anyone who has to listen through these tapes looking for gems.

"The Trilateralist Commission is international...(and)...is intended to be the vehicle for multinational consolidation of the commercial and banking interests by seizing control of the political government of the United States. The Trilateralist Commission represents a skillful, coordinated effort to seize control and consolidate the four centers of power - political, monetary, intellectual, and ecclesiastical." — Barry Goldwater (1909-1998), U.S. Senator

now i see why johnson insisted that he take the oath before leaving dallas.he was never supposed to be vice president.he won by acclamation in l.a. at the 1960 democratic convention. there was a vote by voice and the nays were equal to the yeas meaning that he got in by political connections, and his overwhelming influnce over the senate.he felt the office was owed to him.he knew all the players in gov for a very long time and then comes along the smart rich yankee who ran away with the office
