That would be awesome. I'll be looking forward to the book. I'm also considering joining re-enactment societies that practice Saxon battle tactics with authentic weaponry.

@Leofwin2010 I haven't but I will see if can get the local book/mediashop to order it in or who knows, maybe I can badger the universiy library into testing a few copies because I know that a lot of the history students might like it too. Thank you very much and good luck with your book, I hope to do some research in Middle English too after noticing some articles of interest in Chaucer.

Absolutely Superb,The Old Language had a Beautiful Flow to It.You certainly do it Justice.Probably The Best Rendition of the Poem i have Heard,You have Managed to convey the Great Message in the poem,The Glory of Dying for your kinfolk, and not paying tribute to Thugs. This Poem is about loyalty in the face of certain death.Top Upload Leofwin.

It's a shame I study this at university in translation but I really want to get into a good course to learn some of the linguistic skills to learn old english. Hearing my lecturer read Beowulf is highly inspirational when she goes into the old tongue.

Have you tried Steve Pollington's 'First Steps in Old English'? If you can wait a few months, I hope to have my own book 'Learn Old English with Leofwin' out in a little while
