This is unforuntete. Yes Greyhounds were bred as hunting dogs. Yes it is instinct for them to chase smaller animals. But due to its docile nature it is rare for a Greyhound to kill another dog. Pitbulls were bred to kill other dogs. And for them to act on this instinct is not rare at all.

This could have occurred with any large breed of dog, not only greyhounds. The greyhound owner was obviously not being responsible. It is not the dog's fault. Greyhounds already suffer becuase most people have a completely misguided view about what they are really like. Many live with small dogs and cats, many are not interested in chasing. It is the responsibility of the owner of any breed of dog to ensure its safety and the safety of other animals and people.
