  • Bro, I have 12 original DVD videos of Super robot shows.

The Nimfarodo Voltron is one of them (Voltes V is the creme dele creeme of my video shelf.)

I've seen Voltron about 3 times and I felt I was watching an old "He-Man" cartoon.

I always watch Voltes V after watching voltron.

There are elements in Voltron that's shows it a honesttoghod rip off!

  • voltus v, vs voltron. voltus is the best.

  • guys, both of them are under the Toei Animation banner. Voltes V (1977-1978) golion (1981-1982). Toei, the same as any company decides how a project should go regarding story telling and other mechanics of how a show should go,hence the similarity in Voltes V and Golion. Tadao Nagama is not the creator of Voltes V or any of the "Robot Romance Trilogy" he was the director. the actual creator/creators was a team of creative talent in Toei that all goes in the false name of Saburo Yatsude.

  • I don't think so... you see I've seen how voltron works and I've seen how Volters V kick ass...

Like Princess Allura is the damsel in distress type compared to Megumi Oka, the ninja girl of Voltes V...Now that simple comparison would show how Voltes V could kick voltron's sorry ass....

    Over land...and Over sea...onwards VOLTES V!

  • Wish you could watch FULL-LENGTH hi-res quality EPISODES of your favorite 80's cartoons and not just the opening credits? Now you can! Just Google: "Nostalgia Manila" and you'll find the blog. Now playing FULL-LENGTH episodes of: Thundercats, The New Adventures of Batman, Silverhawks, The Smurfs, and Classic Looney Tunes Favorites Merrie Melodies! SPREAD THE WORD CARTOON FANS!

  • "Keith Kogame kilikili baho, ayaw maligo binato ni Kennichi Go ng Tabo!" (In the tone of Voltes V's main theme.)

Before you "praise" Voltron Copy cat, why don't you watch Voltes V and Voltron and compare the two shows.

All I can say is that VOLTES V rules and Voltron drools...

  • Wrong...Combattler V was created by Tadao Nagahama who created Voltes V. Now, don't you think Tadao Nagahama merely improved Combattler V's designs, characters and story line through Voltes V?

On the other hand, Golion (King of a hundred beast) is NOT related to Tadao Nagahama or his "Robot Romance Trilogy" so It was clear that who ever created Golion is loosing some of his "creativity juices."

  • Ok so you saw Voltron, but you didn't see GoLion, which is the original version. Voltron was horribly cut up, and edited to include Vehicle Voltron which was actually a completely unrelated anime. Btw, if Voltron is a ripoff, then Voltes V can be considered a ripoff of Combattler V.

  • Saying it was a slutty rip-off is not a reason. I was asking what was bad about it. If you can't think of one, then you obviously haven't even seen it, thus your opinion is invalid anyway.

  • It was a slutty rip-off of Voltes V and it's creators are not to be called creators but " Cranial Thives!"
