When you have an incoming or invading people from a foreign land, the expectation is there will be fighting for awhile, then terms of peace, then some assimilation on both sides, then a continuation of the existing cultures w/ some synthesis in the middle. In the 1492 colonization, you have fighting, then whites draw the terms, betray their own terms, fight w/ superior technology and subjugate the natives to nothing. Same w/ Palestine.
