@arcticwolf510 There was no possible way they were gonna outrun him by doing that. Given his nimble ship, outmaneuvering him was also out of the question. They could only have done one thing to escape: make him crash. Going through the closing gate offered the best chance of that happening.

The funny thing is, I find this cutscene to look better than some modern cutscenes, quoting yugioh abriged is the easiest way to explain what I think of most game cutscenes that come out modern day
Now everything is covered in darkness making the mosters really easy to animate
