My sister's Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Guinness, decides to bark at a dog a few yards over. The normally silent American Pit Bull Terrier, Inky, isn't sure what the barking is directed at but plays along. Barking is such an annoying habit but Inky listens when I tell her to stop. Good girl! yes, the corgi is debarked, he came from his breeder that way.

  • Debarked is os mean. It is natural for dogs to bark.

  • He was already debarked before he became my sister's dog. I wouldn't debark a dog.

  • Debarked?!?

Sounds cruel and pointless to me.

  • In some cases, debarking keeps the dog from ending up in a shelter or otherwise dumped/euthanized. Thus, the debarking has a "point". Some ppl just don't want to properly deal with the barking and should've found another breed. This corgi was already debarked when she got him.

  • AWH!!!

I have a corgi, and it's best friend is a huge girl pitbull.

    Peas in a pod! Lol.

  • It can be a good combo for the right dogs. My APBT is too active and drives poor Guinness nuts trying to extend the play or by biting him one time too many.

  • ha ha ha ha my 2 favorite dogs. That's to funny

  • Debarked? I assume that means removing part of the dog's larynx? I'm speechless... (no pun intended)

  • @blsbutcha - It was first used for dog fighting so the opponent dog couldnt grab its ear and rip it off. Now it's just to make the dog look more intimidating or something.

  • why do people pin the ears on pit-bulls??

  • that is a good looking pit but you shoulda taped his/her ears after they healed up from the trimming. you can still do it. it's very easy and effective. simply roll the ear into itself and tape it with sports tape. leave it for about two days then take it off. let the ears "air out" for about a day then tape again. the ears will train very fast and b4 you know it that dogs' ears will be standing str8 up.

  • @bettiepagestyle but you pinch their ears? they are both cruel

  • My breeder debarked my corgi too. How mean!

  • i know im just saying its mean and he shouldnt have done that since he wasnt keeping him.
