Mesmerizing, you are seeing a lot of the photos here that weren't meant to be seen. A photographer's proof sheet shows all the photos taken, he may select one or two good shots per page. Marilyn crossed out those photos she hated..on the negative. Even those have been restored with the crosses removed. Another invasion of her wishes I suppose. So here is Marilyn at her best, and the out takes. Such sad but beautiful eyes. An amazing video.

Love this because it shows the quagmire of agining....although quite beautiful, not the nynph of her youth.....nets over her face to hide the wrinkles, lots of alchohol...hats to hide the hair loss..may she rest in peace.

My favorite is at 2:47. Just a natural look, and still incredibly beautiful. There's not a single image where she's not beautiful. She may have not liked all the images, but she didn't take a bad photo in this shoot.

Bert Stern was a total shit to have published EVERY SINGLE ONE of these photos--withour ANY re-touching. Tho he promised to retouch her recent gall-bladder scar. Marilyn only saw half of the first session---with the scarves and beads, and she crossed out many. But after she died he went right ahead and has expoited her image ever since. A lot of these pictures would be lovely with some minimal retouching---like everybody gets. Others should not be seen, period.
