They are not real committees. Rather they are committees within the republican caucus. From Wiki: "In the United States House of Representatives, the House Democratic Caucus includes a Steering and Policy Committee. Its primary purpose is to assign fellow party members to other House committees, and it also advises party leaders on policy. The House Republican Conference divides the duties of this committee between two groups: a Policy Committee and a Steering Committee."

When was this taped? How can two Republicans be chairmen of ANY committee with a minority of seats in both houses? Did they split chairs or something?
Anyway, its a good idea but I think the Democrats are more afraid of alienating their enviro-nut base then they of alienating a mixed portion of the population who still hate the Republicans.

Good Luck guys...Remember people used to tell us that the oil sands were never going to work and that if they did it wouldn't make a dent in Canadian production etc. Let the private sector compete and you'll get there.
