  • A favorite... very nice.

  • ... thank you. May I ask how you tripped over this?

    best, gary

  • Another great trick of suspension. Suggestion, innuendo, tension tension tension. The stillness vs. motion/urban frenzy.

It looks like a reclining ape (the two eyes) or man (the two eyes). Of course it's bags of something, shopping/refuse?

We can't know for sure. Nor can we know if the cord leading to (or from?) the mass is a fuse. Will the ape/man/material goods/refuse explode in our face?? Some people live in this state of insecurity and suspended terror every day. Garo, u rock, u rule!

  • Yours is such a fertile mind Anna. He is a homeless man who exists not far from where I do. The cord you refer to is a path marked by his urine. The image is in negative and I hope this abstracts the scenario from him being a particular man to him being any man - or woman. Such a state is not difficult to get to as life can and does sweep the carpet from under people's feet. I would have found actual imagery somewhat pornographic and far less suggestive.

  • This reminds me of a cool song with a really good groove. The kind of song everyone likes to hear, but no one really knows the lyrics. The "Louie Louie" effect.

  • couldn't say exactly as I watched a lot last night. I search keywords like art/experimental/ conceptual/ spoken word/ poetry.... etc... maybe came up that way... I will have to check out more of your stuff ... very interesting...Cheers james

  • Your instincts are bang-on. Much more effective this way. To ID him would indeed have been tantamount to poverty-porn. Also, we would have looked away after about 1 second. Your revelation of what the 'cord' is...so incredibly poignant. God help us all. Frighteningly easy to get from here to there.

  • Wow! Great job, "manumente".

    Love it.

  • CCCCCCCCCClever effect!
