  • @trixy776655 The problem is that it puts you on the wrong side of a chicken and egg debate. That study in the BBC article covers a period of time when diets haven't dramatically changed. The changes he describe would look more like a step function since once applied, the effects wouldn't take more than a generation to take effect. Instead, the factors that affect our society are causing us to eat at a non linear rate.

  • @yoyoSD he doesn't deny that there is a connection between over eating and obesity (there obviously is), he just thinks people have the causality reversed (ie: getting fat causes you to eat more, not the other way around)

  • The problem with making an observation like that is there are so many factors you are observing. There has has also been a corresponding jump in in sugar consumption. But take your thinking back a little and think about what regulates fat accumulation and fat metabolism. Insulin regulation has to be the foundation of your discussion about fat. There are far more questions you have answer if you don't talk about insulin. Why do women in menopause gain weight with no change in calories?

  • Fascinating, he pretends like there isn't a connection between over eating and obesity. IT"S AS CLEAR AS DAY. Instead of building a straw man, just look at how much we actually eat.

google: Snacking clue to obesity epidemic and read a nice bbc article.

A 30% jump in calories beginning in the 70s corresponding to a jump in obesity and health problems. Bingo Gary, I think I found the data you were looking for!

  • This stuff has changed my life.

  • @hitssquad eat it.... just dont go crazy on it ... overeating of anything is bad and mix it with vegies

  • @makaki88 "don't aim to eat high amounts of fat"

    Why not?

  • @cyprusxxx "now my cholesterol is high for the first time ever"

Does cholesterol level predict heart disease?

  • @cyprusxxx cheese probably isn't the best thing to eat... don't aim to eat high amounts of fat either, eat things like eggs, meat in particular the one of the main points is the fact the some of the high fat food is easily broken down because the human race has adapted to doing it so long cheese is also normally somewhat artificial so there's probably bad cholesterol causing shit in there. Watch the movie "Fat Head" it talks about this book and has basic diagrams covering these points!
