Here's a quick little jam I just found myself in. It's the xbase888 on its own. No other gear used. You may notice the machinedrum positioned nicely in front of the jomox, but it wasn't turned on.

This machine simply rocks. It sounds incredible, even using factory samples (this video uses nothing but factory samples + the analog kick and snare).

I should have my monomachine on friday, so expect a video soon pairing this jomox with the MnM.

  • ;) the 888 is a sick box

  • heya radambe.

nice one...you have a sequenzer inside?

  • not sure i understand your question...

  • very nice, it's a track by itself. hey, cud u advise how much sampling time the 888 has? is it easy to import samples? also, is the audio in stereo? i'm comparing the 888, elektron UW and korg ESX. they r completely diff animals but i jus need to know b4 committing to one. tks from another gear whore....

  • the 888 has much more classic functionality - it's easy to import samples but they are pretty short, only for one shot perc type stuff

the machinedrum is far more advanced

they each have their strengths and weaknesses..i wouldn't want to compare them

  • @pomfrit93 I ended up with Ableton and NI Maschine, loving it :)

  • @onnolab go for a mpc 1000 mate. you wont regret it.. hehe what did you end up with?

  • Are these DM's difficult to learn how to use? I have a Machinedrum and just learned realtime and getting to the meat of it! So Stoked! Cuz I am getting a monomachine soon YEAH!!!! I like the sound of this but heard they are hard to figure out... is the manual thorough and is there tutorials? Thanx for your time radambe and again another inspiring video and a soon to be purchase.....lol

  • @hereiamhere75 Thats realy saying something cause I love the 999 filters. Also is it just me or is there a difference with the kick drums. The 999 more 909 ish and hard. and the 888 more 808 ish and silky?

  • Great pattern, whats all this talk about loading an 888 OS in a 999, whats the pros on this, I thought it'd be a downgrade.

  • @hereiamhere75 what is the os difference making the 888 better than the 999. I've just got a 999, i wanted an 888 but couldn't find anywhere selling them though can't see the point of an os upgrade to lose the filters if there is no significant gain elsewhere.

  • yearrrrrrrrr big pattern

  • you really prefer it? why not just sell your 999 and buy an 888... get a whole bunch of money.

  • I am looking at getting a jomox 888 and a monomachine together. Do they compliment eachother well?
