The cashew nuts of Guinea-Bissau are reputed to be among the best in the world. The nut harvest has just got under way in this small west African country, where three-quarters of the population depend on the industry. But the potential of this rich bounty is not fully exploited - the country doesn't have the means of processing the nuts in situ. The plan now is to help concentrate cashew revenues at home.

  • Wow mann.....and here I was bitching about the price of the $1.99 small pack of cashews I just ate. I ate about 20 cashews in 3 gulps. Damn....so that like carrying a bag of 20 of those fruits! $1.99 is actually a bargain now that I think about it...all that hard work? Wow...thank you cashew ppl!

  • @feralkevin amen.

  • i remmber eating that fruit when i was a kid... taste horrible xD

  • se não fosse a criatividade e a força das mulheres, o qué q séria desse país?

  • @umblataprinlume hows your finger?

  • I’d be really happy to know also how to produce at home the cashew apple WINE from fruits??

  • I would like to find out the whole HOME procedure from A to Z sense the nuts are picked up from the tree. Do I need to boil them before cracking? Guess factory procesing is totally different then what you can do hand cracking / deshelling cashew at home?!

  • If I try to cut the cashew just when is sundryed the nuts are not coming out (only by crumbling). I tried to roast them in the oven at home but I got a very poisoning oil which burned my finger. And by hand is extremely hard to cut them into half. Must be very experimented to do this.
