A gaussian wave packet, describing a particle, meets a thin potential wall with a finite hight. The simulation is based on the integration of the time dependent Schroedinger Equation as is on a 100x100 grid... The second part of the video shows only the real part of the wave function where as the first part shows the unnormalized probabililty distribution of the incoming particle.

  • Nice! :) What method are you using? Does it preserve probability?

  • @diegofloor Unfortunately not really, it's just first order approximation in finite time intervals and becoms unstable after a few hundred cycles
