Louisville had just lost star guard Dejuan Wheat to an ankle sprain and was in a vulnerable position in the 1997 Sweet 16 against Texas when Alvin Sims sent a message w/ this drive and dunk that carried them to the Elite 8!

  • Love the way Sanders clears 'em all out. "Alvin's got that look, he'll dunk on his teammates if they're in the way!."

  • @jw870206 Yeah, I'm surprised that Wheat wasn't a 1st round draft pick.

  • DeJuan Wheat injured his ankle in this game, and that was sort of the death nail for the Cards, because he was an essential part of Louisville's game. They likely would have had a much better chance against UNC in the Elite Eight.

  • @magichandswannab Bj Fynn still balls at the fieldhouse in Jeff.....he scored 45pts last week...hes better now than when he was younger

  • Gus Johnson !!!!!!!!

  • I remember when he shattered a backboard in high school.

  • That's one stat that nobody really tracks anymore...total dunks.

  • he was a beast back in the day

  • a young Gus Johnson lol
