Don't really know. Early 90s, returned to Australia. He picked up worked at Seven Sydney. They clearly liked him and thought he added value. He was anchoring everything from the network morning news, Sydney's weekend news. But it was the ill-fated Seven News at Five that sealed his career. As a long-time proponent of 5pm news, bringing this show to fruition was something he was passionate about. That it was such a resounding failure obviously caused bitterness and friction with his bosses

i have to say, he is kind of putting on that accent, you know. As soon as he returned to Australia a couple years later, bamm, he lost much of this!
