Freedom Is Not Free

I made this as an added thanks to Wendy's wonderful video "Have You Forgotten" video, (addy above,) to our troops. So many have made video's in tribute to those serving today, I thought I'd focus on those who have already passed.

The poem was written in 1988 by a young man who seemed particularly fond of Marines, and was kind enough to grant me blanket use of it once I'd discovered it, and his poem expresses my thoughts so much more eloquently than I ever could, I copied it from my website to use in this video.

The song accompanying the poem is "In The Morning Light" by Yanni.

No, "freedom" is indeed not free. We all know how much it cost the Iraqis, a minimum of 600 000 dead and millions maimed, mutilated and another 3 million displaced, Iraqi Christians can no longer live in peace without fear, something not a problem until the "liberation", and we have small children being born with horrific deformities due to Americas love of uranium depleted shells in urban areas. No "freedom" is indeed not free look at what this "freedom" cost the Iraqis.

@aaronharms123456 You fail to mention the ongoing persecution of the Kurds and Shiites under Saddam's rule, or the mass graves, or that the vast majority of deaths and mutilations are caused by Muslim extremists trying to derail the fledgling democracy in Iraq in favor of a theocracy. Perhaps you'd rather live under a dictator and give up YOUR freedoms, though you would no longer have the freedom to publish a post like yours without fear of government reprisals against you and your family?
