Disturbed - İndestructible drums :D
-
Thanks for the info. I will definitely try these out because I am sure my neighbors are getting sick of my drumming.
-
@brianmadmaxsy actually they work great i play drums and they rock
its cheap and it stops allot of sound
-
@phxrocks69 do you put one condenser mic in the open back of speaker cabinett?
-
@phxrocks69 Okey, thank you so much for the help! Really appreciate it! :)
-
@Friddethaman Hey, you should get some bass traps too. You can also make these yourself. There are a couple good videos on youtube. How to make your own bass trap
-
@Friddethaman I ordered the foam on Ebay. I would buy the 24inch x 24inch squares. You can get a good deal if you buy a bunch of it. Measure the walls and ceiling so you know what the square footage is. My 1st attempt at soundproofing was in a concrete home. I covered all the walls, leaving no space between the tiles. It sounded a little dead when recording guitars, but it will solve the reverb problem. The foam tile will not keep sound from escaping the room. It's only for acoustic treatment.

Hi, I have a drum kit in a room that got walls of concret so the reverb is so annoying because it is so much! So I would like to ask you about the acoustic foam, where can I buy them and how much does I need to pay fore them?
Please answere me as quickly as you can! :)

lolololol indestructible so easy to recognize
-
@mcbo We used 2x4 construction secured to the floor using cement anchors. 5/8 drywall on the outside. Next was cotton insulation, then we lined the walls and ceiling with 1 lb heavy mass vinyl. You have to create a floating wall.We used channeling, and applied soundclips to the channeling. The 1st layer of drywall inside,is screwed into the channeling. The second inner layer of drywall was applied with green glue.We used LOTS of acoustic caulking,Isolation tape, I have a mini split ac installed too.

@phxrocks69 What are the right materials?? I'm actually planning to buold a Soundproof room and would love to get something like yours!!! :) GREAT JOB!
-
@clumpft If you are talking about the acoustic foam, They just eliminate reverb. I have covered the walls completely with foam at another place and it sounds kinda dead.
But the foam doesn't keep the sound from getting out, it's the mass in the walls, constructing everything with the right materials, and sealing everything off.
The only weak spot is the door. But it hasn't bothered anyone yet.

I see you haven't covered the whole room with panels, which I thought I would have to do. Are the ammount of panels you have used really enough to make a difference?
-
@KingandQueens12 Good job! It is Indestructible. I got the track off off a youtube video and ran the audio,in stereo, direct into the tascam to practice with it. So someone else gets the credit for that. I bought the soundproofing materials for the room at a Sound Company in San Diego, and a lot of shit @ Home Depot
-
Dude please please till me were you got all this even the recording software sounds great. btw thats industrucible by disturbed right?
-
@phxrocks69 Thanks man, all i need to do now is get some money saved up and ill be set, once again thanks for all the help

what is the wall made out of? Is it just dry wall or something else
Does a normal carton egg tray work? Because I am planning to cover the walls in my with egg trays... I play drums and guitar.... The room's wall by the way is half cement and half wood I mean in the right corner is wood and the left corner of my room is cement... I hope you can help me guys... :)

@brianmadmaxsy I have never used egg cartons, but they will work a little for acoustic sound. But they won't stop ANY sound from leaving the room. Sound will bounce off the cement, so cover it with something.

@lukeatoy7 I don't remember. It was about $100-150 online. Relatively cheap compared to what all the other materials in this project cost

Freaking Shur 57. This Joke is getting old! Studio Projects B1 yay!
electroneticTV 6 months ago
@electroneticTV And some Audix condensors, Sennheiser 906, Shure PG52 for kick drum. The 57 is popular because it can easily be used to mic guitar cabinets, snare drum, hi hat, We have even used them for toms and vocals. I started using 2 mics on the guitar cabs. I try to blend them together and mix the best sounding channel at a higher level. The 906 with a condensor sounds bitchin
