In cab brake test. Please note: my truck does not have an applied pressure guage to refference with, nor does it have a trolley bar (jimmy bar, or johnson bar it is also called) to use with the tug tests. Never exceed 1500 rpms when performing the tests, & when using the gears to secure the truck make shure to let the clutch out.

  • thank you for the video i have been reading my cdl study guide i start the trucking school in a few days i have been giving this 110% and watching this was way better then just reading it.

  • Very helpful. Thanks.

  • Thanks

  • Good job brother , thank you very much.

  • hmmm.... after reading the air brake manual... this video helps to see the real thing... I'm going for my 1A training tomorrow..... thanks again for the video

  • Good job ...keep it up

  • Also, for the test starting at 2:11 ("static test"), I thought that the PB's needed to be released (lines charged) and then see if Psi drops 2psi (tractor only) or 3Psi (tractor and trailer). The way you did it, aren't you basically testing nothing because of the spring brakes (PB) being applied which dis-charged the air-lines ?-I'm trying to learn as much as I can if I want to make a career of Trucking and trust me none of this is meant to insult, just trying to figure 'er all out y'know .

  • However, I thought it was advised NOT to push on the brakes (service) while the parking (spring) brakes were set, as the combined force could damage your brakes. So, for your Cut-in test you said the PB's were set and you were fanning the service brakes to find cut -in, this is contradictory to the books advice. I though the PB's needed to be released.Besides, if the PB's were set how would there be air to be released ? Isn't it all released because of the spring brakes being applied ?

  • Bada-Bing !

  • I like it .... Real world.... Cool
