Test details:
The Toyota Camry was redesigned for the 2002 model year. Beginning with 2004 models, side structural changes were made to improve occupant protection in side-impact crashes in cars equipped with optional side airbags.
Two tests of the Camry were conducted, one with optional side airbags for the driver and rear passenger, and one without. These vehicles are rated separately, except that the structural ratings for both vehicles are based on both tests.
Injury measures:
Driver â Measures taken from the dummy indicate that a fracture of the pelvis would be possible in a crash of this severity. The risk of significant injuries to other body regions is low.
Rear passenger â Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.
Head protection:
Driver â The dummy's head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof.
Rear passenger â The dummy's head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side curtain airbag that deployed from the roof.
@ElectroGhandi Oh, trust me. The dummy was the guy who drove a Malibu when they're car got SO MUCH DAMAGE while all I got was a dent on my back bumper.
