In my opinion it would have been for the best if Dragonball was concluded somwhere around the point were Goku defeats King Piccolo cause everything feels wrapped up. The rest of it along with DBZ ain't too bad either but still not as good as before and not really needed.

Goku was sent to Earth because that's what Saiyans normally did. Send infant Saiyans to planets to prepare them for when they would be sold.

Frieza was boring as hell. And he's hardly the mastermind behind everything. He just killed off the Saiyan race. That had no affect on where Goku ended up or Piccolo Daimao or anything outside of instigating his own demise. He may have killed the Saiyans but he didn't even know Goku existed before he met him on Namek.
