1. Open a new document (default page setup)

2. Select Rectangle Tool (Shortcut: M)

3. Click anywhere on the document

4. Set both Width and Height to 8p0

5. Select Selection Tool (Shortcut: V, Escape)

6. Select Rectangle (if not already selected)

7. Select Swatches on toolbar and fill with black

8. Edit→Step and Repeat (Shortcut: Alt+Ctrl+U)

9. Repeat Count: 3
Horizontal Offset: 8p6
Vertical Offset: 0p0

10. Select All Boxes (Should have 4 boxes)

11. Edit→Step and Repeat

12. Repeat Count: 3
Horizontal Offset: 0p0
Vertical Offset: 8p6

13. Select All Boxes (Should have 16 boxes)

14. Object→Paths→Make Compound Path (Shortcut: Ctrl+8)

15. Select Object (Should all be one object)

16. File→Place

17. Select Image of Choice

18. Select Direct Selection Tool (Shortcut: A) to move or select picture
