Opus 1783: The Alabama Theatre houses the only four manual Moorish console WurliTzer ever built - simply love it. By the way: John plays Cole Porters Anything Goes. ()
This just makes 'ya want to tear yer cloths off, smear yer body-n-face with black shoe polish, set down on one knee, cane and top hat held high in the air and sing-out "MAMMY!"
A lovely organist, - and a great tune. I like the slow ascent of that ornate console, it certainly gives that extra oomph! - to the presentation. Some organ consoles - such as the WurliTzer in Blackpool Tower England shoot up in a matter of a few seconds. Doesn't affect the quality organ sound - but spoils the presentation!
Yeah, and a bowl of soup was a nickel. There are still places where you can see this, and besides, lumping all of today's "youth" together and painting them with a broad brush sounds like a pretty small minded thing to do.
They never used shoe polish........it was grease paint lol............and it is now illegal.

When I was young going to the theatre was a great treat especially seeing the great organ rise from the pit and be played so masterfully
here is a great moment that today's youth can't grasp as a wonder. Pity that they do not understand !!!!!
