  • I know george zoritch! I've had multiple classes with him!

  • That's great! You can see Mr. Zoritch on the right side of the screen starting at 1'41.

  • It was an interesting piece, I quite enjoyed it.

  • Thanks, fairylilac. Happy to hear that you like it. I had to do a lot of digging to locate this obscure little film.

  • I don't agree that Danilova wasn't pretty enough. She was certainly the best dancer - I think the film would have been better if it was her. Don't they employ people for the quality of their dancing?

  • Hi, jkircher314, I'm, back, watching this lovely film once more.

    Ciao !

  • One of the best half hours of ballet available on YouTube. How marvellous was Leonide Massine! - John Austin, Australia

  • my goodness! I did not even know of the existence of these jewels. Thanks JKirchner. Looking at this film I had a fantasy : I kept on imaginning this ballet staged with make-up and costumes inspired from paintings by E.L.Kirchner.

  • no starts at 2:40...

  • its so wonderful to hear the mazurka at 3:00...

  • Erte, said in his autobiography, that the best years of his life, were the eight years he spent in Monte Carlo.

  • And they didn't film it with Danilova because they thought she wasn't pretty enough...

  • A perfect Chaplinesque Massine,Movie Star Igor and dashing Franklin. Wish Danilova was cast. LOVE this post!!!!!!!!!
