Uncut Match from the 2nd Stage of the 2010 Archery World Cup in Antalya (TUR) Men Individual Compound Bronze Match - Vladas SIGAUKSAS (LTU) vs Rodger WILLET JR. (USA)
@firemind1988 Yes, sorry, I got you wrong. Looking at his anchor, to my inexpert eye it looks a little short (but better than too long) and there's something else I can't quite "get" but he doesn't use string to nose reference either. But whatever it looks like, he gets results. Hope you make the national team sometime soon! I'm concentrating on getting the arrows to group. Gold, red, white, in the grass, anywhere. A consistent group would be nice...8-)
@dimligloing Cheers for the information, but you got me wrong a little bit ;) I've been a target compound shooter since I was 14 years old, with tournaments up to highest level possible without joining our national team! ;) I was actually talking about how he performs the anchoring, I just looks a little bit odd. But as my squad coach says..."who hits the 10 is right!" ;) But thank you anyway for sharing your information with me anyway. Thats what I like about fellow archers!
@firemind1988 He's using a wrist release, as opposed to the American who is using a thumb release. Generally the hand held thumb releases are more popular these days, but beginners on a budget tend to go for the very much cheaper wrist release. In the USA hunting scene, wrist releases are generally more popular, as they are difficult to lose in the field. Target shooters go for the thumb release or the similar back tension release (no trigger!)
